Colorado Cottage Food Law

Colorado has a Cottage Food Law allowing its citizens to operate a home based bakery or food processing business. The Local Foods, Local Jobs bill, was signed into law by Gov. John Hickenlooper March 15 2012. The law allows individuals to produce and sell certain types of nonhazardous cottage food products in an unlicensed home kitchen. Sen. Gail Schwartz (D-Snowmass) sponsored the bill, now referred to as the Colorado Cottage Food Act.
